Playaweddings’ Destination Wedding Decoration Hotlist!

In the past years we ran into the sweetest, coolest, funniest, cutest, and most creative beach- and destination wedding decoration. Besides aisle and table decoration we literally saw props of all kinds, from inflatable beach balls to origami. Some of the things we saw are cleverly related to destination weddings in particular, and others are great for about any wedding anywhere. To share the best destination wedding decoration ideas with you, we created this list of past weddings full of inspiration!

Let’s start with Julia and Elias. Think they knew there wouldn’t be a better color than this bright blue with a hint of turquoise, to resonate with the color of the sky and ocean. Their dinner tables look so fresh and inviting, and the twinkeling blue and white shells along the beach aisle are just cute. View their entire wedding here.

Jennifer and Chris had this around-the-world decoration theme going on throughout their whole day. It’s creative and cute, and often very applicable for couples that choose to do a destination wedding. Sometimes, literally, guests arrive from all over the world. This inspiring couple Katie and Kirill did something very unique. Their entire wedding day was drenched in this amazing Super Hero theme. For that reason they flew a team of Super Heroes in to our Riviera Maya! See more gorgeousness of this wedding here.

Many I DO’s take place under the hot Caribbean sun. That’s when sunglasses come in handy. Also: a crowd full of family and friends, wearing funky pairs of sunglasses, makes a nice view for the newlyweds. (That is if they happen to take their eyes off each other.) Hazel and Thomas picked this pink color to go with the rest of the decoration theme. Check it out here.

Folding a 1000 origami cranes would make your wish come true. With this Japanese symbol of hapiness, hope and healing, these playful paper birds are an original and thoughtful way to decorate a wedding reception. As you can see there were at least a 1000 of them at Elise and Joseph’s wedding day, how pretty!! View more of this beautiful wedding here.

Signs held up by ribbons! Beautiful, sweet, romantic, and to walk down the the aisle with a sign that announces the bride’s entrance, is a nice little task for the younger guests of the day. In both Noelle and Brandon‘s, and Brittany and Anthony‘s slideshow you’ll find some examples of this.

Euthemia and Minh, were one of the couples that had hand fans waiting for their guest. No excessive luxury in the midday heat of the Riviera Maya! A practical idea, that at the same time leaves your guests with a nice souvenir of the day.

Next to hand fans, Lindsay and Ignacio gave us some real facts of where their families came from with this custom made road sign. This is destination wedding approved! We think Playa del Carmen is the perfect place somewhere in between. More of their beautiful sunny wedding day you’ll find here.

Yuriana and Gabriel’s beach wedding ceremony was decorated tastefully in blue, white and pink. The combination of flowers along the aisle and the transparent curtains and twinkeling strings of glass beads fitted perfectly in this beach wedding scene. Not to mention the fresh coconuts waiting for the guests! For the slideshow of this wedding, click here.

At last, this is what happens when you bring a bunch of city people together in Mexico for a beach wedding vacation: they go all out on inflatable beach balls and tons of fruity, poppy, colourful, flowery decoration!! We love it.
